Important console in cherrywood veneer and patinated bronze, 1954
The base is composed of two wide, right-angled uprights, to which an arched section is attached. The latter is adorned with a diamond-pointed bronze at the top, and a wide bronze shoe at the bottom.
A cylindrical wooden brace joins these two legs, and the outer ends of the base simulate bronze clamping rings.
The rectangular top is made of cherry veneer with a beak-shaped edge.
Provenance: designed by André Arbus for the Chambre syndicale de la sidérurgie, rue de Madrid, Paris.
